:: The story

Phillipe Gaston, called The Mouse (Matthew Broderick) escapes from the prison of the medieval city of Aquila. The guards of the evil Bishop of the city go immediately after him, but Phillipe isn't captured thanks to the help of a mysterious knight, Etienne Navarre (Rutger Hauer), owner of a beautiful hawk. Phillipe decides to follow Navarre, and soon finds out the story behind him: Navarre and his lover, Lady Isabeau (Michelle Pfeiffer) were punished by the Bishop and now a cruel curse lies on their shoulders... during the night, Navarre becomes a wolf, whilst Isabeau takes the form of a hawk during day, so they can't be together. Together with Father Imperius, the old confessor of the couple, they must try to overthrow the corrupt Bishop and in doing so break the spell.
