Intro

manga info & general plot

It wouldn't be fair to say that Wish is one of the less known CLAMP stories... but certainly, it isn't one of the most popular ones either. Maybe because is one of the nicest and sweetest stories they've made - if not the most nice of their works, actually... even too sweet for some people. CLAMP are known for his lack of mercy towards their own characters, something that causes their stories to have sad, even devastating, endings most of the times. And Wish is a little different this way because, more or less, we could say it has a happy ending.

Wish is the story of Kohaku, a little angel who comes down to Earth in a heavenly mission and, when being in certain difficult situation, is saved by a human, Suuichirou - a young surgeon. To repay his kindness, Kohaku says to Suuichirou he'll help him to realize a wish, any wish he can think about. However, Suuichirou is used to live by himself and is a very practical person... so he says he doesn't need anyone to make his wishes come true, because he can reach whatever he needs on his own. But Kohaku is sure that is something he could do to make Suuichirou happy, and he doesn't give up... so he decides he will stay by Suuichirou's side no matter what, until the man can think of a wish he can't fulfill alone...

The Wish manga is 4 volumes long, and it was published between June 1996 and August 1998 by Kadokawa Shoten/Asuka Comics DX. There are other Wish related products, such as a drama album, a couple of music CDs and the Wish gift box, that included a cute Wish video ^^
